Define your story premise with a one-sentence statement that captures its essence.
Identify the themes you want to explore and set the tone, whether lighthearted, dark, or mysterious.
Develop your characters by exploring their goals, motivations, and internal conflicts.
Learn about popular outline structures, such as the three-act format, the hero’s journey, and the snowflake method, to find your preferred style.
Brainstorm and workshop your novel’s core premise with guidance and feedback.
Create initial character sketches that highlight motivation and backstory.
Build your plot by outlining main events, conflicts, and pacing.
Organize scenes, refine structure, and set up a flexible outline for drafting.
Incorporate subplots that enhance and support your main storyline.
Leave with a completed, adaptable outline and tools to stay motivated throughout the drafting process.
